He sheathed his lone blade when he saw who was approaching. He knew her vaguely from the academy, apparently she was the one he would be working with today. She had been to the academy for a few months less than he had. She wasn't the worst that there was though, he could have gotten a few, how to say it, bad eggs.

She surprised him with her friendly outburst.
"And they said, what a beautiful day! Nothing could ever compare to the beauty of this single day in it's perfection!"

Her randomness was unusual, normally the people in this business were a little more somber. He did not reply to her original outbreak, his opinion was that with people like this, if you wait after they say something stupid, then they will probably top themselves. She surprised him by not saying something completely retarded next, but by introducing herself.
"I'm Kyra, what's your name?" She said.
He knew he would have to tell her, they were working together, but the whole feeling of what he had been doing for his life had taught him to really tell anyone his real name, and especially not his whole name.

Cad, He said. I'm glad you could make it on time. He continued with a sarcastic smile. Shall we get started then?

He turned back toward the dark, smoky sky that held itself above the Lower City. The man we are about to kill, He started, is not exactly the big cheese around here, but his name is known in the streets, and someone wants him dead. Only a few blocks away is where he stays, probably guarded by, guards, if you get the meaning. We just have to get in and get out, so if you don't screw up we shouldn't have any problems, OK?

He looked at Kyra to see her response.

Cad stood on a parapet, overlooking the dark, twisting, smoky streets and alleys that was the Lower City. His dark grey clothing blended with the charred building he was standing on. The burnt out shell that he was standing on was once one of the tallest buildings in this half of the city, and, somehow, it still was. He stood on an open porch like area and scanned over the tops of the Lower City. The black roofs were illuminated by red and orange fires in the streets that gave off lots of smoke. The peace of the whole city was disturbed by fighting going on in the distance, and the nightlife all out to shop, socialize, and criminalize in the streets. Cad stood his vigil, waiting for someone who would be helping him in his fast approaching endeavor. He was not experienced to do it by himself, so a partner was necessary.

He knew not who he was going to be working with, but he hoped, desperately hoped, that it was going to be someone who knew what they were doing, like he did. He had no desire to be baby-sitting some bumbling snot from the academy, even if he was not able, not allowed, to do it on his own.

A small pack held only one item on his back. It did not take up much room, and was barely outlined against the sky, lit by the fires and smoke from below, when he turned around to the sound of someone approaching. His finger pushed on a small spring on his right hand. One should never be too sure that who you are waiting for is the one that is approaching.
